Tipsarevic “Crowd will be with Novak after Federer retires”

Roger Federer is one of the most well-supported players in Sport, what about Novak Djokovic?

If you ask any Tennis about who’s the most supported player in Tennis definitely the answer will be

Roger Federer, that is whenever Roger enters a court the majority of crowd is with him

even his practice knows attendance more than some professional players matches

Novak was asked about the Support of the Tennis fans to the Swiss as He admitted that Roger

deserves the support He’s having for his success and the way He carries himself on and off the court

“I accept the fact [they supported him]. Everybody has a choice to support a player that they want to support.”

“And he absolutely deserves to have the support he does because of all the years and success that

he had and the way he carries himself on and off the court. No question about it.”

“Me, I’m there to earn the support, and hopefully, in the future, I can be in that position,” Novak said

From the other side, Novak’s friend Janko Tipsarevic told The Tennis Podcast that the crowd

will be with Novak when Roger retires and mentioned the example of when Roger first showed up

with Sampras and Agassi and how fans left to Federer after they retired

“On the tennis court, I think he enjoys it a little bit because he had success at the US Open against Federer.”

“But don’t forget when Roger was coming up and Andre [Agassi] and Pete [Sampras] were still playing,

who was the crowd cheering for? This is absolutely normal. When Federer is playing against Sampras

at Wimbly, 80 % of the crowd is cheering for Sampras. Because they know this may be the last Wimbledon he plays.

“When the older guys are on tour, still playing and competing, it is generally normal that people are

cheering more for the older, greater players. Once Federer retires and Novak is still playing

and competing against Dominic Thiem, Zverev, Shapovalov or whoever is coming up,

the crowd will generally cheer for Novak. That’s just the way it goes.” Janko said
