Roger Federer advances to the Q-Finals after winning against Tsonga in an epic match

The Swiss advanced in 3 sets with 7-6 / 4-6 / 7-5 and a very competitive match

with his french opponent Jo Wilfried Tsonga who just came back to his level on the tour

The Job was not easy at all as the match was so close for both players but with

the experience of Roger Federer allowed him to deal with important points

Roger mentioned it was a very close match for both of them especially at the end

“I had a bit of everything, happiness, sadness, frustration,”

“At the end I got very close and maybe also a little lucky.”

“You have to be. Because at 5-all in the third on grass, on a court like this,

against Tsonga, you’re not really controlling things anymore.”

“It was close but the crowd was fantastic. Obviously, it was a great emotion at the end, which was nice.”

“Tsonga’s had served wonderfully the level was suddenly higher. Perhaps

“I was a little luckier than him – and the audience was great. Thanks for that.”

Roger Federer will face the Spaniard Bautista Agut in the Q-Final today for a spot in the SF

Federer knows Roberto very well as He defeated him 8 times to 0 and this is the 9 meeting

“Augut wins his points differently than Tsonga does,”

“because Jo does it with the serve and forehand and the power and the variety and his explosiveness,”

“whereas Roberto does it through just doing the same thing in repetition, and he’s also got a great forehand as Jo has.

“From my side, I might have more play from the baseline, but then again we might be in more rallies on my serve, too.

read Roger Federer “I feel great to be back to the grass”

“I’m looking forward to it. I have a good head-to-head against him and I’ve beaten him

at Wimbledon once on the grass before. I hope that’s going to give me some confidence.” Federer said

The Match between Roger Federer and Roberto Bautistu Agut will take place at 4:30 pm GMT same time as two previous matches.
