After the loss in Australian Open Roger Federer decided to play in Clay after 3 years of waiting It is finally happening in 2019

The last time Federer played in Rome lost in the 3rd Round to Dominic Thiem with 7-5 6-4,

and since then He did not play in Clay untill He decided to participate this year

Severin Luthi also confirmed that Roger will be clay season this year but only in 2 tournaments

before Roland Garros, for that The director of ATP Rome invited Roger Federer

to play there as He mentioned many reasons why Roger has to play in Rome,

One of these reasons is that the conditions in Paris are similar to Rome, Valesio

Roger always says that He wants to enjoy tennis and Valesio confirmed that Rome

is the best place to enjoy playing in clay, one of the other reasons is that people in Rome

loves him more than any other player on the tour which is a good reason as Valesio thinks

“They look forward to seeing you again at Central Court and we would like you to see

how the tournament evolved. You could also enjoy some pizza and try to win

the tournament after you’ve lost four finals here. You can return to face Rafa,

another battle of your rivalry, you can defeat a NextGen that you are trying to challenge. Roger thinks about it,”  Rome Director said
