Alexander Zverev defends Novak Djokovic’s action in the Australian Open 2021

In the duration of Quarantine of the Australian Open 2021, players were split into two parts some in Melbourne, and the others in Adelaide.

Players started complaining about the bad service they had in Melbourne. for that, Novak Djokovic sent a letter to the direction of Tennis Australia in order to improve the services of players in Melbourne but they completely refused the request.

Many players criticized Novak Djokovic for doing that, including Rafael Nadal who was one of the players not to be happy with the Serbian action.

from the other side, Alexander Zverev defended Novak Djokovic‘s action and opened up his point of view.

“Novak Djokovic was again portrayed as the bad guy, which is not true because he was just standing up for other players,” Zverev said.

Moreover, Alexander Zverev explained why He thinks that Novak Djokovic did not deserve this treatment from other players as He wanted only to help other players to have better conditions throughout the 14 Days of Quarantine in the Australian Open 2021.

“Those were the demands from other players who are in quarantine in Melbourne, We were all in a group chat. Novak was just there as a leader and as the number one player in the world and he sent the letter out.“
