Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic practiced together in Paris Bercy and Carlos Moya talked about it
The race for the world number 1 is already started after the US Open win of Rafael Nadal,
and it is official after the loss of Djokovic in Shanghai Nadal will be world number 1 on the 4th of November.
The race for the top spot did not make an effect on Rafa or Novak as they practiced together in Paris Bercy ahead of the tournament.Carlos Moya comments on Nadal and Djokovic training together
For that Rafael Nadal coach commented about his player and Djokovic practice in Paris,
The Spaniard mentioned that He’s not sure if we can see two opponents on the line practicing together in other sports,
but it happens in Tennis and this is good for the sport, and they tried to practice with Novak but it did not happen before now.
“We’ve tried on many occasions to practice with Djokovic, but couldn’t due to scheduling issues,” Moya said
“It just happened to work out here in Paris. I think you must just look at it for what it is without placing some sort of value or extra significance on it.”Carlos Moya comments on Nadal and Djokovic training together
Carlos Moya also talked about the court surface and said it is a bit faster and the ball bounce quickly
which is not a favorable style for Rafael Nadal due to the reaction time but they will deal with it.
“The court is a bit fast; the ball doesn’t bounce in a way that allows for a good read or much reaction time.”
“The only option is to be aggressive. We’ve taken this approach for some time now and practiced
in this mode to prepare for whatever we face, but what the opponent brings to the match is also a factor, as always.” Moya added
