Wimbledon CEO believes that the 2020 Tennis Season could be Canceled
The 3rd Slam of the year Wimbledon is officially canceled and it’s happening for the 3rd time in history.
After the cancel in the World War I and II this year and due to Coronavirus it did not take place.
in a statement wimbledon confirmed that the tournament will take place next year in the same date.
“It is with great regret that the Main Board of the All England Club (AELTC) and the Committee of Management of The Championships”
“have today decided that The Championships 2020 will be canceled due to public health concerns linked to the coronavirus epidemic.
“The 134th Championships will instead be staged from 28 June to 11 July 2021.”
Moreover, All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) chief Richard Lewis expressed that He hopes for The US Tour
to take place but also He believe that Tennis may not be played again this year.
“The optimist in me and I’m often not optimistic still hopes that the American hardcourt season will take place,”
“One hopes that things have settled down a bit and those big 1,000-point tournaments Montreal, Toronto,”
“Cincinnati can happen in the lead-up to the US Open. We all know that’s probably tenuous at the moment.“

At the moment nothing is official and because the United States is suffering from Coronavirus there is a big chance for the US Tour to be canceled,
